Snapchat could be gearing up to more directly challenge TikTok. The company confirmed it\u2019s testing a new experience that allows users to move through Snapchat\u2019s public content with a vertical swiping motion \u2014 a gesture that\u2019s been popularized by TikTok, where it allows users to advance between videos.<\/p>\n
Snapchat says the feature is one of its experiments in exploring different, immersive visual formats for community content.<\/p>\n
The evaluation is focused on material that is printed publicly to Snapchat Discover<\/a>, not your friends’ personal Stories.<\/p>\n However, because Stories may have several components, users will still tap into progress through the Story, too.<\/p>\n But from the new experiment, a flat swiping movement — either to the left or right — will depart the experience, rather than moving you involving Stories, just as before.<\/p>\n For anybody who spends a lot of the time on TikTok, the perpendicular swipe feels like a more natural means to proceed through videos.<\/p>\n And it is almost disorienting to go back to Snapchat or other programs in which the flat swipe is utilized.<\/p>\n This evaluation was initially seen by social networking advisor Matt Navarra, mentioning a post from Twitter consumer @artb2668. 1 photograph being shared reveals the pop-up at the program that explains how to navigate the new adventure, though a movie provides you an idea for the sense.<\/p>\n Snapchat testing a TikTok format on the new Discover page?
