Previously, users have to open these records in the Google Workspace suite until they can make any modifications.<\/p>\n<p>You can now edit Word, Excel, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-next-tech.com\/artificial-intelligence\/microsoft-powerpoints-new-ai-assistant-can-help-you-champion-your-presentations\/\">PowerPoint documents<\/a> without leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-next-tech.com\/review\/how-to-export-emails-from-thunderbird-to-gmail\/\">Gmail<\/a>, and while keeping the record&#8217;s original file format. (2024 Guide)<\/a><\/span>\n<p>Modifying an Office document is as straightforward as pressing a brand new &#8216;edit&#8217; button which will appear alongside the email attachment.<\/p>\n<p>And in another piece of Office compatibility, Google announced a new Macro Conversion add-on to make it much easier to move macros from Excel into Sheets.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade is rolling out to customers today, though Google says it might take up to 2 weeks until it shows up for everybody.
