Those who make successful bids could be awarded up to \u00a350m to purchase all-electric buses and install new infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the announcement, West Midlands Mayor Andy Street stated: &#8220;Turning all Coventry&#8217;s bus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-next-tech.com\/gadgets\/ford-will-reveal-its-all-electric-transit-van-in-this-november\/\">fleet electrical<\/a> isn&#8217;t simply a significant boost to public transportation in town, but it is going to also help handle the climate crisis we confront both here in the West Midlands and the broader UK.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 50 million strategies will be supported with an additional #75 million worth of investment in local bus operators to the brand new electrical buses.<\/p>\n<p>In general, 19 areas applied for the contest, with applicants needed to demonstrate acquisition from stakeholders within their regional regions;
