In 1999, Walmart credit card services were initiated to the people of the United States in partnership with Synchrony Financial (then known as GE Capital).<\/p>\n

At that time, credit cards can only be utilized within Walmart stores or its affiliates. Over the years, Walmart expanded its credit card program to include a Mastercard option, allowing for use outside of Walmart stores.<\/p>\n

Due to legal disputes, Walmart ended their partnership with Synchrony in 2018 and a year later, Walmart transitioned to Capital One for its credit card program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where it launched the Walmart Rewards Mastercard and Walmart Rewards Card with enhanced cashback offerings.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, In May 2024, Walmart and Capital One announced the end of their exclusive agreement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Therefore, as of now, Walmart has not yet announced a new banking partner for its credit card program.<\/p>\n
