has addressed the nation from Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park to give a key speech ahead of the midterms

President Biden

accused Trump, saying his extreme ideology is threat to democracy.

In his combative speech Biden says

 'If one side believes that there are only two outcomes to an electoral election: either they win or they were cheated' democracy cannot be sustained.

Biden in his 24 minute speech

claimed that the beliefs of Trump and the MAGA republicans are dangerous to the very foundation of our republic.

Biden when adressing

the 'Soul of nation' said “Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal".

The White House

said it wasn't a political speech but Biden launched multiple political broadsides at Trump and his supporters.

Biden said

 "As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault, We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise."

NBC News

conducted a poll last week and found that 21% of respondents thought "threats against democracy" was the most pressing issue facing the country.
