House of Dragons

the highly anticipated prequel series to Game of Thrones returns to TV on Monday, August 22.

The show is based on a prequel history about the Targaryen's family, published in a book "Fire & Blood" by George R. R. Martin in 2018.

No one is immune to the venomous dynamics of the Targaryen family in the lavish Game of Thrones prequel.

The series focuses on the conflict between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and her brother Aegon II over who will take the iron throne following the death of their father,  Viserys I.

The show was created by Martin J Condal and Ryan J Condal. The spinoff takes you 200 years before what happened in Game of Thrones.

After the opening scene, a prologue explained the events of this series takes place "172 years prior to the death of Aerys, the mad king and the birth Princess Daenerys Targaryen, his daughter."
