Mobile learning is now a big deal. We can’t get through a conversation on eLearning without mobile learning being mentioned at least once. All the major LMS companies offer mobile learning options. Mobile learning is not only a great option for users, but it’s also becoming increasingly important. CNBC [1] estimates that 72% of internet users will be able to access the internet only through their smartphones by 2025.

It may seem frustrating to try and capture the attention of mobile users if you have mastered engaging users via traditional learning platforms. The reality is that technology is constantly evolving and the way that we engage learners will also change. This is your chance to discover more about this amazing mode of learning. The shocking statistics above show that the way people access the internet is not the same as logging onto a desktop computer. Even those who have access to a computer or laptop may not be able access it reliably. These devices are often shared with family members. These devices are more likely to be available 24 hours a day.

Mobile device usage is a clear indicator that you must find users on their phones and tablets if you wish to continue reaching them.

This misses one of the many great ways mobile learning can engage learners. Mobile learning increases workplace flexibility. Employees are increasingly looking for flexibility in their workplace.

Flexibility has been a major factor in employees’ love for working at home over the past year. Employees have more flexibility and can spend time with their families, wash their clothes, or go to their favourite coffee shop.

Employees can work during the day and travel, giving them more time to visit family members or their parents. According to Forbes, workplace flexibility increases employee buy-in as well as employee morale.

Employee engagement can be increased by employee buy-in and employee motivation. Employees will feel more confident about eLearning and will be more inclined to take the training seriously.

Flexibility isn’t something you can give to your employees once in a while. Flexibility is a more daily strategy to keep your employees engaged, happy, and productive. Employees can be empowered and have more control over their own lives, even in small ways.

If an employee is currently putting together a PowerPoint presentation, and needs a reminder about how to make it ADA-compliant for the slideshow, they can pull up a resource right away. This is just-in-time training, which can be accessed anywhere, anytime.

It is essential to provide a platform for employees that they can access at any time, anywhere. This is especially important for employees who work from home. Just-in-time learning can be accessed from a smartphone on the road, in the warehouse or on the sales floor.
