Utility software is OS-based and works according to the OS on a computer. Some of this software is built into operating systems, e.g. Windows Disk Clean Up Tool, Windows Defender, etc.

File Management Tools

Files are the way that all data and information on a computer is stored. These files are saved on the computer to keep the information secure. The file management tools keep these files safe. A file management tool is an essential tool for the operating system. File management tools are the most commonly used file management tasks such as search, update, browse, and so on. File managers and archivers also fall under the file management tool category. File management tools can also be used to open, rename, or group files. Directory Opus, File Manager for Windows, Double commanders, and others are some examples of file management tools.

Computers have a problem with storage space. We do our best to minimize the file sizes. The computer will work well if there is enough storage space. Piriform CCleaner and IObit Advanced SystemCare are just a few examples of disk cleanup programs.

Disk Defragmenter

This utility software is designed to improve the speed of access by rearranging files on a disk that are not in the same location. A computer is used to store large files. These files are then broken down into smaller pieces and stored in different locations. The fragments can slow down the access speed of files later when they are searched for. These files are then gathered and put in contagious places by disk defragmenter software. Some examples of disk defragmenters include Perfect disk, MyDeFrag, and Defraggler.

Backup

Backup software allows you to make a backup of your files, databases, or folders. Backup software is an essential utility program that comes with all operating systems. Norton Ghost, TotalRecovery Pro, and Symantec Backup Exec are some examples of backup software.

These types of utility software not only maintain the computer but also improve the system’s performance. The performance of operating systems can also be affected without this software.
